MINERALS AND ROCKS
LABORATORY
Analitica is a laboratory specialising in mineralogical, petrographic, chemical and granulometric analyses of rock samples, mineral resources, aggregates, lands, soils, clays, sands and sediment samples taken from underwater soundings and core drilling.
The Analitica laboratory offers advanced instrumentations (XRD, XRF, SEM-EDS, OM), innovative methodologies and a multidisciplinary approach integrating mineralogical, chemical and morphological techniques to rapidly and accurately characterise all types of minerals and rocks: silicates, carbonates, sulphides, sulphates, phosphates, oxides, sands and clays, and for the determination of the weight percentage of crystalline phases and of the amorphous fraction using the Rietveld method.
Our scientific approach and methodologies have led us to the top ten in the Reynolds Cup ranking of 2022
Mine rocks
XRD pattern of raw material
Identification and quantification of the crystalline phases by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), (EN 13925:2006) and the Rietveld Method
Concentration of clay minerals and phyllosilicates in the < 2 micron fraction.
Thin section petrographic study by the microscopy of rocks, aggregates, stone materials, mortars and ornamental stones (EN 12407/2019) (EN 11530:2014) (EN 932-3:2022)
Elemental analysis by X-ray Fluorescence (WD-XRF).
Granulometric analyses by laser diffraction (ISO 13320-1/1999) and particle size and morphology (Feret diameter and equivalent diameter) by image analysis (ISO 13322-1/2014)
